Website Appearance – The Stunner Vs The Bummer
So you have a great looking website. Its visual aesthetics are immaculate, the back end code is ordered, pristine and validated, the colour scheme, graphic design, font and appearance is stunning.
But having a great looking website doesn’t mean you are guaranteed success and the riches of the internet. Some of the most successful websites on the World Wide Web are quite dull to look at, some of them are cluttered and chaotic and some of them look like they were designed by someone with a do-it-yourself book.
So how come these mediocre looking websites work and my beautiful website doesn’t?

Search Engine Placement – Top of The Heap Vs The Undercover Agent
Your website secures first place on Google, Yahoo and Bing. You have reached the summit of the mountain, the top of the heap and you’re the envy of everyone below you. Feels pretty good doesn’t it being the kingpin, the leader of the pack. You now have more web traffic than you can poke a stick at. Traffic that would make the Autobahn pale in comparison.
But although website positioning is something all webmasters and online businesses strive for it still doesn’t guarantee you success or sales it just means you have the best keyword content and density and your webpage is very well optimised for search engine relevancy and content. In fact there are many successful online businesses that you will never find at number one position in the search engines. These website fly underneath the radar like a seasoned Undercover Agent.
So how come these websites have such a successful internet business when you can’t find them on the front page of the search engines?
There are many other internet scenarios and anomalies like the two just mentioned. It just goes to show you that to operate a successful website and e Business you don’t have to have the flashiest, best looking appearance and you don’t need to be on the first page of Google…Although both would be pretty awesome.
So What Matters Most?
Those people who find internet success and manage to unleash the beast that guards the untold riches and treasures can answer the following question with Pure Clarity.
What makes you, your business, your website, your products and your services unique?
That’s right…UNIQUE! You need to be able to answer this question with solid purpose and clarity to have total domination with your selling position compared to that of your competition. What do you have to offer? What’s different about you? What problem does your product(s) or service solve? Why you over your competitors? What is your Niche?
Online Business and Internet Marketing tells us that successful marketers plug a niche. They analyse their market, they study their competition, they do their homework and exhausting research and they fill the gap in the market with their product and service. I mean what use is a nut without a bolt or a bottle of fizzy soft-drink without a bottle cap or a seal-tight container without a lid?
As your homework I want to take some time and sit down and write out as succinctly as possible in 200 words or less: What makes me, my business and my website unique? If you know you now have the power to and potential to conquer the World Wide Web.
So you see having a flashy website or top spot on Google does not guarantee you more dollars in the bank. The truly successful internet marketers and online business marketers recognise this and act on it. I hope you do too!
